The OEM lens foot included with the Sigma 60-600mm F4.5-6.3 DG DN OS | S (SKU: #732) has some issues this product addresses: Difficulty in balancing the lens at its maximum focal length when used on a typical tripod head. Risky to use as a carrying handle rendering it useless as such.
It is much longer which allows you to find the optimal balance point for your camera body, this also allows you fit your entire hand on it when it is being used as a handle. The arca-swiss dovetail blends perfectly into the top of the foot making it a comfortable way to hold onto a large lens. There is also a small lip at the front of the handle section preventing it from sliding out of your hand.

Carry Handle:
The original foot is short with a flat top that tapers towards the front. When flipped upside down and used as a carry handle it does not feel secure and has a high risk of being dropped. My foot is designed to fill your entire hand, has a small hook at the front to prevent your hand from slipping off and also has a comfortable, ergonomic radius that blends into the Arca-Swiss compatible dovetail.
Arca-Swiss Dovetail:
The original foot does have this feature. However, with the lens at max zoom, especially with a small camera, the lens will be front heavy. With the extra dovetail length on my foot you can adjust your mounting position forward to find a better balance point on your tripod, monopod or just when resting the foot on a surface for some support.
